Idaho I National Geographic Traveler
Landscapes and Chrome
A recent assignment took me on the road across Idaho, USA, for National Geographic Traveler.
Hundreds of miles of scenic highways, alpine lakes, fast-moving rivers and wide-open landscapes shaped the journey. From small mountain towns — Ketchum among them — to the expansive silence of the high desert, the state revealed a scale and rhythm I hadn’t expected.
The road eventually led to Boise, a capital city far more dynamic than its size suggests. By coincidence, I arrived just in time for the Downtown Boise Father’s Day Car Show — an extraordinary gathering of classic cars that transformed the city center into an open-air museum of American automotive culture.
